Lars Karlsson is a Silicon Valley pioneer with over 50 years experience at computer design, software, and high frequency wireless design (including antennas, microwave, and millimeter wave systems). He is currently the Chief Technology Officer for the Modular Products division of Pacific Defense.
Lars has been the co-founder of several high tech companies including Memoteknik AB in 1965, and was the founder and CEO of DIAB Data a Swedish computer engineering and manufacturing firm, founded in 1970. DIAB is mostly known for engineering the ABC 80, one of the world’s first personal home computers (manufactured by Luxor AB). The compiler technology developed by DIAB was bought by Wind River Systems, the Unix computer support and and customers was acquired by Bull Computer in 1990.
Lars later co-founded NetworkFab which was acquired by Agilent Technologies, Inc. in 2007, and then Spectranetix, Inc. which was acquired by Pacific Defense in 2020. The last two companies were specialists in military electronics and wireless systems. Spectranetix was a foundational pioneer in both the CMOSS and SOSA military electronics standards for the DoD. At Spectranetix Lars was the CTO and authored or co-authored over 20+ U.S. patents and applications on various wideband DF, SIGINT, EW, and signal analysis technologies. He has also written and published several RF technology Papers on varieties of wireless topics.
